Hiedanranta Watermarks Masterplan prize
Tampere is a city undergoing intensive growth and responding to the challenge through city centre densification and brownfield regeneration. The city has acquired ownership of the former Lielahti pulp mill on a lake shore, where a 20 000 inhabitants district of Hiedanranta will be built.
AR Urbanism’s masterplan won a special award and was praised in particular for the way our proposed artificial islands and the shoreline area are skilfully linked with the former pulp mill. The formalistic approach creates a stylish composition, which consists of alternating zones of urban blocks and parks.
